We are Yazmina and Gustavo,

Siblings and animal lovers. We believe that dogs and cats with no home, still deserve to be respected, taken care of and loved. We were born in Peru. Already as children, we fed and rescued many dogs and cats living in the streets in bad conditions, and gave them a home. Today, we live in Switzerland and Turkey, and have six lovely pets.

​

Our dream has always been to establish our own strays rescue center, to save many lifes as possible and to promote strays adoption (#adoptdontshop). We also wish to rescue any animal who is been exploited in the street.

​

Before establishing Samaha's Garden, we have already neutered, fed and

provided medical help to hundred of strays in Turkey.

​

After years of savings and organisation, our dream became true with Samaha's Garden based in Kemalpasa, Izmir. Our rescue center is currently the home for 24 happy dogs who were found injured or sick. Gustavo is living in Turkey and works 100% in Samaha's Garden.

​

Strays are a problem in many countries. Neutering campaigns would help to solve this problematic. But sadly the opposite happens in Turkey, with the implementation of a new law, the municipalities are taken the stray dogs to public shelters where they are dying of hunger or sickness. Current situation requires our immediate action.

​

To date, our financial resources are our own incomes but we need help. If you wish to adopt or to contribute to save many more lifes, please kindly ask us for information.

Finally, who is Samaha? She was the first dog we rescued outside Peru. In 2013, during Gustavo's sabatical year in Egypt, he found a puppy tied to a rock under 40°C, she was unconcious and he took her home. She survived and became Gustavo's daughter, best friend, travel buddy and inspiration. Samaha moved with Gustavo to Poland and later to Turkey. Unfortunately, she had a heart attack and died in January 2023. You can find her complete story under Samaha's Story.
